5,000 years ago, Lord Sri Krishna spoke the Bhagavad Gita to his friend ARjuna, who was seeking divine guidance before entering into battle. Advice was given that The outcome was pre-ordained' yet Arjuan still had a choice to make - to fight as an instrument for Good, or abandon his duty as a warrior, based on prior misconceptions of reality? By the end of the discussion with Sri Krishna, Arjuna had decided to stand and fight as required by his social duty, but for many more cogent reasons. Sri Krishna had explained to them that they were eternal friends; that Krishna could remember all of their past lifetimes together, but Arjuna could not. Krishna explained how the eternal soul trying to find a workable situation in the temporary material world, is not a real solution. When Krishna revealed that he is the seed -giving father of all living beings, and that one's voluntary surrender to the plan and will of the lord, automatically results in eternal satisfation, knowledge and Bliss. Sri Krishna also explained how he can be know by anyone, through is presence in everyone's heart. When Arjuja asked to see how Krishna as Godhead, expands throughout the universe, Sri Krishna granted Arjuna to see the inconceiable, which appeared as if thousands of suns and risen together, revealing the fate of everyone on that battlefielf and more.

Such transcendent sound, known in the sanskrit language as "Shabda brahman" is found in sacred texts and expanded by the realization of saints, who areconsciously connected to divine source; A source that is also divinely and unlimitedly conscious, being ever-present and all knowing.
The knowledge found in the sanksrit writing of ancient vedic scriptures is said to be timeless, although recorded in written form about 5,000 years ago at the beginning of the present "Kali Yuga" the present era of a universal cycle.
therein it is written that universal source is referred to as Bhagavan, a name/word meaning the source of all beauty, fame, knowledge, strength, wealth and renunciation.
Bhagavan, as the source of such all-attractive qualities and energy, is linked with a name of Godhead/Source which means "all-attractive" namely "Krishna" or Bhagavan Sri Krishna, the supremely concious source; the supreme personality of godhead whose form and personality are non-material, unlimited, and infinite. Such a divine personality of Godhead is mostly inconceivable to the human mind, save for the mercy and revelation given by bhagavan himself, Sri Krishna who sits in the heart of each conscious living being, as described sri Krishna himself in the bhagavad-Gita, chapters 15 and 18.
In another sacred text known as "Brahma Samhita" The appointed secondary creator of this universe respectfully known as lord Brahma (although not the supreme lord/Creator source) was empowered by source/Godhead for his universal creative function.

He offered a prayer of appreciation with the opening statement:
"Isvara paramah Krishna

Translation:
"Krishna, who is known as Govinda, is the supreme personality of Godhead.
He has an eternal, blissful spiritual body.
he is the origin of all, and has no other origin.
he is the prime cause of all causes."
Bhagavan Sri Krishna is also known as Govinda, because he gives pleasure to one's purified spiritual senses, as a means to interact on the spiritual platform, with the source of all happiness; godhead himself.
It is also described in the vedanta sutra, that the absolute truth is "that Source from which everything emanates"
In the Bhagavad Gita (the song of God) after Krishna showed his universal form to his friend Arjuna, offered the following prayer:
arjuna uvāca
paraṁ brahma paraṁ dhāma
pavitraṁ paramaṁ bhavān
puruṣaṁ śāśvataṁ divyam
ādi-devam ajaṁ vibhum
Bhagavad Gita 10.12
"Arjuna said: You are the Supreme Brahman, the ultimate, the supreme abode and purifier, the Absolute Truth and the eternal divine person. You are the primal God, transcendental and original, and You are the unborn and all-pervading beauty.
Later in the same chapter of Bhagavad Gita, Bhagavan Sri Krishna described some of his potencies and ways to understand his divine potencies Bg chatper 10, verse 25:
maharṣīṇāṁ bhṛgur ahaṁ
girām asmy ekam akṣaram
yajñānāṁ japa-yajño 'smi
sthāvarāṇāṁ himālayaḥ
"Of the great sages I am Bhṛgu; of vibrations I am the transcendental om. Of sacrifices I am the chanting of the holy names [japa], and of immovable things I am the Himalayas."
Chanting of the holy names, or Japa, was emphasized not only 5,000 years ago, but also by Sri Krishna in a more recent incarnation. In 1486 in West Bengal, INdia, Krishna appeared again, but this time disguised in the mood of a devotee of krishna, His name was Sri chaitanya Mahaprabhu, and traveled all over india, promoting the practice of chanting the holy Name of Krishna and Rama, including the name "hare" which is calls out for the divine energy of the lord, to engage one in the service of godhead, who is "krishna" the all=attractive Personality of Godhead, and "Rama" the same personality of Godhead who is the source of all spiritual strength and happiness.
This "maha-mantra" or great mantra to deliver one's mind, glorify the Supreme personality of Godhead, and be engaged in divine devotional service (bhakti Yoga) is the most highly recommended process in this age of Kali Yuga, to quickly establish one's re-awakended divine connection to the personality of Godhead, in the mood of divine service to the source of love and happiness, Bhagavan Sri Krishna.
There are no hard and fast rules for the chanting of these holy names. One can repeat them silently in the mind as a meditation, or repeated softly so only the chanter can hear (japa) or chanting out loud with muscical instruments alone or with others (bhajan/kirtan)
Lord chaitanya recommended that anyone could simply chant these holy names, and make one's life sublime

There are opinions in the marketplace of ideas to choose from- mostly offered by university and scientific disciplines - but none are conclusive. Many theories we are inititialy taught as probably true, are scuddled for new theories, published year by year, or decade by decade. perhaps there is another way
Knowledge is power; power which has been abused in many cases by both science and religion through corrupted leaders and followers - so that's a thing to consider; who actually represents Godhead/source, and who has ulterior motives for personal fame, fortune, or political/Social control?

The vedic texts reveal that God has unlimited names, for the same original, one Divine creative, supremely conscious being, in whose image each individual soul is sourced from.
To seek truth or find God, means finding/remembering one's individual loving relationship with one's Divinly conscious source. This takes place usually gradually, as revealed in one's heart.
How that supreme loving relationship is re-kindled, starts with at least some fraction of faith, that God and the individual have relationship to begin with. One can then find a qualified teacher of any faith, for further progress. God/source guides both from within one's heart, and from without as the bona fide teacher/guru, who has the same message. If the goal is to know and love god, then it should not matter what means or tradition or faith one follows - vigillantly keeping in mind that love of God and self, and even love all of creation as God's property and energy, is the final destination of a successfully, spiritually lived life.
